The PIL Golf Award is awarded to student athletes who attend and compete for a school sponsored golf team in the Portland Interscholastic League. The Multnomah Athletic Foundation proudly administers the award for a female and a male golfer. The selection process is supported by the head coaches at the schools to provide equipment and resources to enable individuals to compete at their highest level.
The winner of the PIL Legacy Golf grant will be awarded a $1,000 gift certificate to RedTail Golf Center. The gift certificate will include a custom club fitting, and strongly encouraged to be used towards the purchase of a new set of irons.
The student-athlete must be a in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of high school, meet all eligibility requirements to play team golf set by the PIL, and have shown continued interest in developing in the game of golf. Strong consideration will be given to student-athletes who need financial aid to buy their first set of custom-fitted irons.
Applications will be open starting March 1st, and will be due by April 21st. The winner will be announced April 25th at the District Tournament.
Applications will be reviewed by the coaches at the second to last tournament of the year. The applicant with the most votes will be presented with the grant at the District Tournament at the end of the year.
